The grease for the u-joints isn't overly important. I use Red n' Tacky, I think it's by Lucas. Grease for a wheel bearing is more important because it has to be able to take the heat but in a u-joint, that's not really the case, it just provides some lubrication and keeps water and debris out of the joint. Do yourself a favor and get a quality grease gun, not just a cheap-o version.

Ill check when i get home, i have one that i installed and took off because it made vibes worse. Its definitely about a 1/2", maybe 7/16" but i know it bigger than 3/8" and i think grade 8 washers are about 1/8" thick

Im trying to get vibes to a minimum, i wont go crazy trying to get rid of them. As long as i can get it better. Right now my passanger seat shakes when no one is in it. Its bad enough that i dont go over 65, because thats when they get bad.

For a grease gun I like the pistol grip type so I can hold the end on while greaseing

    Good luck chasing vibes.

I tried using washers, which helped before shims. Now I have a 3 degree shims and no CB washers. Truck still has a slight high speed vibe, but it isnt bad at all.

For me, the CB washers gave me a driveline shudder at low speeds when I got on the gas.

Stupid question but it isnt a tire or tire balance issue is it. It would prob be a rear

I was just giving you a hard time. I haven't seen my diff drop in so long, I don't remember. I was just stirring the pot :D

BTW, if anyone wants an OME diff drop, I have one that I'm not going to use.

I could have thrown a weight. I just assume its the driveline. It wasnt this bad at all at first. Its progressively gotten worse. I would think if i threw a weight i would have picked up on it...maybe haha

Mine did the same thing pre shim. It actually did it post TSB and prelift. The 3 degree shim has almost eliminated all passanger seat shake

Sometimes it is a weight issue and sometimes it is a tire issue. I would rotate frt to rear troubleshoot. If issue still there no change then go after the bearing shim

The all pros don't like a lot a weight. But they are more designed for flex and they flex really well.

I use marine grade grease. It's better with water

You guys who off road, that's probably not a bad idea although I still don't think it's necessary. Any grease will displace water, just have to keep up with it. I used to grease my quad every time I brought it in because that thing was constantly under water

That and the marine grade products have to pass certain standards. I have my grease gun in my bed. It's a cheapo one but I've had it 6 years and its only a 3oz one.

hmm it shouldn't get worse with speed like that, it sounds like your tires are chopped.

Evan it sounds like the driveshaft is out of balance or the angle is too extreme. You can shim your diff so the pinion in higher or lower.

remember when shimming our drive shafts, you want the rear diff output to be parallel to the transmission output, NOT pointing at it.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
That's fucking funny! Just made my shitty night turn right around.

Not to worry, everyone is cool. Came home to ants swarming my sons playroom. Needless to say I stripped the room bare, vacuumed, mopped with bleach, and then poisoned with ant spray. I may have inhaled some of that shit...
