What are you double cab rear LT guys doing with the drive shaft. I measured and I don't think I need to shorten mine.

Think people are swapping to a plunge rear driveshaft as the carrier bearings like to pop out.
Even then the carrier bearing has issues

Mine already plunges in the drive shaft as it is a 4x4 double cab.

I have a 4x4 dc too and I didn't have to do anything with mine

    ALSO:

I have three 285/70/17 BFG MT KM2s for sale. Just picked up a new set. There is a decent amount of tread left. I'd say 25-35%. They will be good for spares which is why I am keeping one. $50 each and you can pick whatever one you want. I'll post pics if people are interested

Another option is to relocate the battery behind the back seat. A guy on expedition portal did it, with dual batteries none the less, and it came out sweet.

You'd have to check your battery to see if it will fit, but it would be completely out of the elements and instead of taking up bed space would take up space hardly anyone uses.

Here's the link to the guy's build on expeditionportal.com:

Mounting batteries in the cab is generally frowned upon due to the fumes if they have a problem

Hmm, I never knew they emitted fumes. Good to know. That changes my plans.

The guy on expedition portal did comment that his batteries were like $450 a pop... maybe he bought some sort of sealed battery or something.

if home depot does have what your looking for, check out a local welding store and see if they have ground wire for a welder. you wont need more than a 25ft roll.

agm batteries (optima/odessy) are "sealed" but if they get overcharged they will vent fumes that are flammable and toxic. Small chance of it happening but you never know, plus it they came loose in a roll over they could cause some damage!
