I have a question, can i take a movie we own on DVD, put it on my computer (MBP) and put it on my Iphone 4s?
I'm going on a 9 hour plane flight tomorrow and the airline has it setup so you can plug in your phone and watch movies that are on your phone on the tv in the seatback in front of you.

This is more mechanical then technical but i was wondering. . . On the new Imacs the 27" one to be exact, Does it have some kind of locking mechanism to keep it from tipping up and down? Everytime i position it just right at eye level it always seemed to sink down... Not sure what to do?

Never seen this before, it might mean the battery needs to be serviced.

Just wondering if anybody would be interested in buying a Apple MacBookPro this is the exact model and size

    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005788TW6

Its had its battery and hard drive replaced... Got its typical scruffs and bumps on bottom, Dent on side that causes the battery door to be set weird..

Willing to take 500 if you pay shipping.

Bottom line up front--how do I get snow leopard (then lion ota) onto an mba 2009 with a new hdd and no previous backup? I have the laptop, hdd installed, snow leopard disc, and usb disc drive. PROBLEM: snow leopard will not recognize the hdd, therefore will not install. WHAT I'VE TRIED: pre-formatting the disk (via ubcd), wiping the disk. What now?

Well, I'm sorry to admit I'm losing faith in the apple nerd. 4 days and no bites? It is close to the 4th though, so here's the benefit of the doubt... 3 more days makes a week though and that could be damaging to a reputation. Guess we'll see.

A: Have you used this disk drive with this laptop before? I had one (USB SuperDrive that wouldn't work for certain models)

B: can you get the install disk to boot at all?

    C: model hdd?

He hasn't given enough info to answer the question.

Most likely if he can boot the SL install disk, he can go to the utilities menu/Disk Utility and format the disk there and continue clean install. If it isn't recognized by te install disk, chances are the hdd isn't compatible. I ran into an issue with buying a hard drive that was too fast for the connection I had available (replaced my DVD drive with second hdd. But the hdd I wanted to put in was a 6Gb/s drive and the DVD bay could only handle 3Gb/s).

My hypothesis, without all info, is tht the drive is probably too new (requires higher connection speed than the MBA can handle).

What size and manufacture of the MBA hard drive did you purchase.

Did you replace with an SSD or an HDD?

Some branded hard drives will have a jumper on the drive to change the speed from 6gb to 1.5 or 3 gb. This should allow for newer drive to be used normally.
