In addition to being miserable, why not stop at some of the sights along the way?

I don't really see the point in making a haul that distance without enjoying the trip itself.

I drove from Miami, Fl to Chicago non-stop only myself and one other driver. As long as you plan times ahead so everyone knows when they will be driving, and stick to it, it's not that bad. 8 hours is a good rotation period. 4 drivers would give you 6 hrs a day each...if you have teams of 2, you'll have one person always awake with the driver...that's always a good thing too.

how many people have actually read the original post, and not just the title
seems like almost all the answers are about whether it's safe or not for the driver; he's specifically asking if it's safe or not for the truck
seems like the consensus of answers to the actual question is yes
in addition to the advice already given, maybe change your oil or oil filter once you touchdown
and pack a set of wrenches/sockets/drivers

don't worry about the truck, but be carefull of driving too long, falling asleep at the wheel could ruin your trip in a hurry. Highway driving is much easier on a vehicle, easier than ccity driving. Whats up there that ya have to get there so fast?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Unless your truck gets like 100mpg, no way your gonna make that trip without stopping! :p

In all seriousness though, I did a trip to Phoenix and back about a month ago, close to 3k miles round trip and we stopped every 70 to 100 miles. It was a vacation so we weren't in any particular hurry. Other than that, your truck can handle it, just do a service on it before you go and make sure everything is in ship shape.

uhh... the OP was worried... that was his entire reason for starting the thread :notsure:

"I am wondering if my truck can handle this trip without stopping. Should i let it rest one day in between or it doesnt matter? I dont wanna blow the engine here p:"

Still, he didn't ask if anyone was concerned about non-stop driving.

Did this a few times from OKC to Fresno when I was in the navy. Only the piss bombs went straight out the window (yeah I littered with my piss). Good times, glad I'm not the only one who does this kind of stuff haha

Driving that distance non-stop is worse on you than your truck..... It is probably actually good for your truck to drive that long, so long as you have taken good care of it... Would def. top off all vital fluids, rotate tires, and change your oil prior to your departure. 90% of engine wear occurs during the start-up of your vehicle, when the oil is thick.... Short of that, when it is up to temp, your coolant is circulating and will maintain its operating temp, your oil begins to flow easier, and so long as you have maintained it properly, it is perfectly happy! Regardless of wheither you are running to the store or traveling 3500 miles, the truck knows no difference.... it will still try to get to that temp and stay at that temp! There are some big-rigs on the road that only shut their engine down a handful of times during the year, and are almost on the road near constantly.
