Did yours squeak all the time? My have been doing it here and there lately within the last two weeks just at the end of stopping like that TSB states. Just wondering if they would perform the TSB for me since its only been an intermittent issue thus far.

Just had this done today on my '12 Sport, not many miles on the new brakes, but no more sounding like a school bus at the end of a stop. Just complain about rear brakes squealing and they should do it.

mine wasn't all the time, unless i was driving slow, i.e. driving through christmas tree lane in fresno, then it bugged me and my wife took notice too. unless the dealerships are stingy they should take care of it

well luckily i work for toyota here at my local dealership, so whenever i log in to look through repair manuals it will show recently released tsb's for any particular vehicle. i know there are a few others on here that are tech's and ive seen them post some too. matter of fact someone posted a thread about a new tsb for driveline vibrations that came out yesterday. i logged in and read about it and saw another tsb, also released yesterday, about a clunk noise at stop or "bump from behind" feeling. so TW is a great reference for anything about our trucks

Finally got this done last week, but one thing my service writer told me was particularly interesting. When I picked up the truck, he said that the rear drums had an unusual amount of rust. This stuck me as odd for a few reason, one, I live in the desert(Phoenix) and there isn't much moisture here, and two, the truck is barely a year old. Sounds like Toyota had a bad batch of parts to me.. Thankfully it is all fixed though!

Does anyone know what is the fix? Are they just emptying the brake shoe dust from the drum or are they adding a lube?

Mine makes subtle squeaks when I'm rolling traffic at slow speeds...it doesn't sound like the school bus, but it is annoying since the truck is less than 2 years old

The fix is replacing the rear drums, shoes and lube I believe.. I'm sure there are a few other parts in there that I am missing, but the TSB basically gives you new rear brakes..

Mine did this after replacing the shoes for the first time on my 05. I have come to assume it is from using a let grade brake material. Wonder if it's covered under the tsb

TSB's are only cost free during the 36 month 36,000 mile warranty period.

Yep, that is what mine have been doing for the last 3-4 months, I posted on here about the problem and tested the temp, the rear would get hot in just a few miles and started acting like they had been draging or something, also the scratching, grind.

Mine does the bus grind without the pedal pressed occasionally, as if my ebrake ia dragging but it's not on.....

Wow I just picked up the squeak on my '13 at approximately 12,700ish too. Weird. It only squeaks right at the end of a stop.

Is it a squeak or does it sounds like a bus coming to a stop?
