Wow that sucks, wouldn't better door seals help or is there no way of preventing?

 

on a FJ not so sure.

on my access cab I have siliconed every rubber plug but the door seals are total junk. they transfer from the door to the door jamb right at the bottom and are not continuous. the only way to seal one is to either tape it from the outside and jump in dukes of hazard style or totally redesign the gasket placement. either way you go deep enough the cab is vented in the rear for HVAC pressure and the rad fan once submerged can explode when it hits water. ultimately don't buy a 30k truck and try to make a swamp rig out of it

I tried to fit my fat ass out the rear window one time I was so panic'd and the best part is I know from locking my keys in it previously there is no way in hell my shoulders would fit. after I got unstuck it took me a half hour for the adrenaline to go away. they key is not panicking and taking a systematic approach to it. Ive seen a ton of stupid dangerous shit done trying to extract a truck without enough planning/safety measures taken.

good question. most duct tapes would leave a residue on my non-waxed truck. maybe a very good painters tape because they are meant to seal. I'm not really sure to be honest I never tried. after I throw in the new motor I won;t be finding out either

 

Can you weld

 

or fill the joints with silicone...... just not structural or adhesive silicone

 

What a day. Wasnt very muddy byt when there was mud it was too deep for me.
Got a few pics, got stuck twice but didn't get very muddy. More thick and gumby than thin and sloppy.
Followed this jeep into a trap. I was the only yota out.


Got stuck in an off camber pit and when I got out this was what I found.
Damn BFGs haha my fault, had them at 10 psi.


This was as muddy as I could get without just ripping in and out of one puddle.


All in all a good day though.

thats why its so hard to gauge to people through text. Im a pretty comical person, i try to make light of situations and have fun however i can. I also grew up in an area where u talk shit to eachother and if you cant handle it then you are a little bitch and will get picked on.
