I thought Canada was 18?!?! I used to go all the time when I was in college! Did the drinking age go up or is it difference by Province??

Alright old timer carpenters, flame away. Chris, go into home depot, find the guy in charge of the plumbing section, tell him your issue and ask him what to use with sharkbite fittings. Sharkbite fittings require no soldering. You might have to cut the pipe and clean it, but thats it. Just make sure you get a little lesson on sharkbites and how they work. Most plumbers don't like them, and old timers refuse to use them. I use them for temporary stuff (replacing vanities or sink bases) but they are rated to be used as permanent fittings in walls that are not accessible

Its different by province, i drove through canada when i was 18. I also thought it was 18 everywhere haha. Most places still served me and my buddy though. I think it was 19 in every province i went through, i know quebec is 18.

Shit, I forgot about sharkbites, they are awesome! My dad is an old-time plumber, but using shark bites converted him. I have the all over my house including my heating system. They are easy to use and pretty fool-proof. Just mark the pipe to ensure you pressed the fitting on far enough to completely engage and you're good. The fittings will press on to Pex or copper pipe.

I think sharkbites are awesome, and would probably work perfect for chris's situation, they literally make a fitting for everything and home depot carries most of them. Im suprised an oldtimer likes sharkbites! Most guys wont use them.
To bad i wasn't around earlier to suggest that, i hope he didn't already call a plumber:eek:

Alot of people use them but I just can't bring myself to try. It prob would be good as long as you can get to them easy enough. I wouldn't want them behind a wall, Chris if you can see everything it is worth a try. The fittings are more $ but you will save on the plumber/labor

With that having a small engine like that, you'd definitely want the standard.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Shark bites are not in my plumbing vocabulary (old school?), but hot damn I do love pex. What a dream to run.

We can do it during the week or next weekend. I shut the water off to it so it's not an issue right now..

Fortunately it's the one to the front yard, so you can pretty much stand up in there and no crawling needed. From what little I can see without getting in there it also needs to be secured..my belief is the spigot got moved and pulled it loose.
