To paint hood...or leave it black?

just threw on my sport hood to check the fitment. it is the unpainted black from the factory...but kinda glossy.(factory hood unpainted) i am kind of liking the black hood. kinda goes w he silver/black theme i am goin for. i am going to eventually paint it silver...but wondering what you guys thought of it staying black.

Looks good. Although it does cross the lines over the ricer/tuner crowd. Just depends on your taste.

I don't think the finish will hold up very well though.

 

Paint it, but leave the actual scoop black.

 

Yeah...I'd be worried about whatever made it a "lil glossy" not really being made to be a final finish.

It looks pretty sharp...Good contrast and what not

Ya i wanna paint it silver when i get the spare coinage and leave the black scoop insert black. different..

leave it black and paint the grill surround black to.. would be an interesting look i think. i've always said i want to paint the top of my scoop flat black... you will find at times when the sun is setting it will reflect off the scoop directly into your eyes and theres really nothing you can do about it.

yupp. went down to home depot and found some small thick screws in the specialty drawer

the black primer will not hold up to the sun. paint is the same color as truck anyway

Sometimes the sun reflecting off the back of the scoop can be really annoying. Makes me think about the old Mopars with the wide flat black stripe on the hood/scoop. pretty good idea.

 

that looks cool. maybe paint it and leave the scoop black like everyone else is saying.

 

Color Match is the best IMHO. If you're going Black, then get the CF Hood to complete the look. Good pick up!
