The windows are so old, if you look at them the right way, you can see ripples from the glass settling.

It would be interesting to see with a set of calipers how thick the top of the pane is compared to the bottom

What do you do for work? Are you a plumber or do you know all this from doing your house/side work maybe? Or are you a contractor?

That's what I was afraid of... A fucked up mix of old and new. I've seen worse. If your lucky the old nob and tube isn't being used and they were too lazy to pull it all out.

Definitely looks like years and years of what I call the "homeowner special" treatment, shit work built on top of shit work. Move out now, even if the old glass is cool.

US Army, Look up "himars" on YouTube.

Been working on houses since I can remember. I have an associates in Architecture and Design, as well as an associates in construction management. My grandfather was a plumber. Gutted and rebuilt a 1940's ranch with my dad (the place I'm renting now). And I've done a complete rewire of a two-story Victorian with my buddy (under the table work) who is a master electrician. When I was a regular Guard member I also worked for a civil design firm after college. Economy shit and I had to go back to Active Duty to pay the bills.

*almost forgot, short time doing spray foam, and years of irrigation and landscaping to include certifications in paver installation and retaining walls.

Jason, that yellow wheel is a timer hardwired into your line. Not sure what it was used for, back in the day it was needed for outside lights for instance..or sprinkler systems..

Gotta be lights, if it was irrigation that would only control one zone. Seen some medieval irrigation controllers, if that's one it takes the cake.

Yeah it's still ticking right now. Thought it was an old meter of some type.

We traded in our old towed 155s for them. They are the little brother to the M270A1, C-130 transportable. We'll be up at Ft Drum later in the summer to shoot them.

Look up "steel rain" on YouTube, those are 270s.

My overwhelming guess is lights as well.

That's what I did on a lot of my house except I used shark bite fittings to transition from copper to pex. So far, they've held up great! I didn't like the barbed fittings, shark bites can be re-used without damaging the pipe.

x2, there's a hodge podge of electrical cobb jobs in your basement. Unfortunately, it looks like you have some active knob and tube, either that or the 'electrician' didn't properly take it out of service. If it was out of service, the knobs would still be there but the wires would be cut on either side of each knob.

That thing looks like some sort of timer. People use those for pools, irrigation systems, block heaters, etc. Do you have any exterior lights that come on at a certain time and shut themselves off?

Good guess, but look at the 2 little pointers on the outer edge of the circle. Those are when the devices it runs turn on and off..that's how you would set the time range.

Good example of what I do... Putting warheads on foreheads. This is from a unit shooting at Riley.

    Goodnight!
