Seafoam Question

I seafoamed my truck the other day. I put the whole bottle in the gas tank and let it sit for about 10-15 minuets and when I started it, there wasn't any white smoke coming out of my exhaust. Does that mean that it didn't work or does it mean that my engine was already clean?

 

Lol it only smokes if you put it through your intake system.

Usually you put it in a intake vacuum line. Not to sure which line to use tho.

 

Either off the brake booster or pcv

 

what does the brake booster look like?

 

it's the round thing that the master cylinder sits in front of.
it's on the driver side firewall

I put it in the gas, the vacuum system, and the oil. Good stuff. Change the oil after about 200-300 miles I guess if you do that.

 

I ran seafoam through my intake system for the first time about a month ago. 200,000+ miles. Although it didn't quite smoke as much as I thought it might, there seemed to be a little improvement in smooth RPM idle and acceleration.

 

I just changed my oil like not even 500 miles ago and Im not trying to change it again. And vacuum system? Wheres that located at?

 

Seriously man... from the questions you are asking, DON'T

It is very easy to pour in too much and hydrolock your engine, turning it into a boat anchor.

Just run it in the tank for the next 3 or 4 tanks and call it good.

It's really that simple. Just pull the line off that Aztacoma circled here and with the truck running, pour in 1/3 of the can...slowly...and that's it! It will actually suck it up itself if you tilt the can a bit, but be careful not to put in too much. I did mine again last week after about a year and it smoked pretty good. Drives like a dream again though. Idle is smooth and I saw a slight increase in MPG (anything helps lol).

 

The best thing to remember is to have someone gassing the RPMs steady at about 2000. If you do it at idle you'll probably fuck up.
