Dangit, I posted my last post without knowing there was another page. so,

    1. Yes, Firebreak 5 is a single black. You can check the map for ratings
    2. No, you don't need a shovel, only if TSF is being marked as Regulated Fire Use. As far as I know, it does not have that status right now. You still need the extinguisher. I'm doing some research on what to recommend; at this point an all-steel ABC dry chem is the cheapest and puts out the most, but your vehicle is totaled after that. We might be able to use Halon or Halotron, which make no mess, but they don't cover wood fires so not sure if we can use them. Currently in contact with Amerex.

I would still recommend a shovel at some point, they are cheap and are super useful. I recommend
-a standard size shovel (the small ones just make the work take twice as long)
-a pointed spade end. The flat blades don't work well in gravel, mud, clay, etc.

Mine was something like $8 at Harbor Freight. T-handle fiberglass. check my build or Benson X's for good ways on how to get it mounted.

Another update - I've been putting in some serious hours here at work so it seems I've missed some important things that I thought were already done.

    1. For the Friday crew that is meeting at Buster's, we are meeting at the TIGARD location!

    2. My OHV permit is expired - I'm so used to always having this current and just hopping down the road that I didn't think about it. After Buster's, I'm headed down the road to Beaverton Motorcycle to pick up the permit. We can either have the caravan go over with me, or I can catch up back at camp.

At lunch I'm going to try running over and grabbing one, whatever they recommend.
I don't think PKP sounds that great because when you run around with guys squirting ABC dry chem they can interfere with each other.
From what I'm reading, CO2 is a bit bulky.
AFFF can freeze up if you don't get the right mix.

    Some light reading
    more reading
    and more

I think I will start with a Halotron (doesn't harm vehicle, puts out most everything. Downside is that it sucks in windy days), and then get a backup ABC dry (cheap, puts out stuff the Halotron won't, works in most all conditions, but it needs to be shaken periodically and its MESSY - goodbye truck)
