Does anyone here in the Nova area and on the forum work as a technician for Toyota?
I just got a v8 4Runner and need timing belt as I am at 100k miles. I am wondering if anyone wants a side job? If not a toyota tech, anyone with a hookup at a reputable shop?
I would rather put the money in a person's pocket than in the dealers and at the same time save a couple of bucks. I can source the parts or you can.
I can leave the truck with you for 3-5 days if needed...

You might want to check with DOUBLLD. I'm sure he could do that for you. He's not a Toyota Tech but a mechanic for sure.

When would one or a couple of you guys be able to help me out with installing the top plate spacers? I think I would be able to do it myself but I really want to make sure it's right.

    I can provide food/beer/drinks/etc...

Tracking says it should be here on Wednesday.

Sorry brother...I've got a super busy June with NO weekends open. I would like to help but just don't have the time right now.
Check with Skygear...he's normally more than willing to help.
Good luck with the install. It should be pretty easy.

No problem ;) If it comes down to it, I will try and tackle it myself and just throw pictures up in TW Live if I have a question since so many people are willing to help in that thread. (That's why I really love TW)

If I'm correct, the spacer goes above the coilover assembly, but below the stock rubber shock isolator?

Well, after an evening spent with DoubleD my truck is louder, the steering wheel is crooked, new lights are on, and my tires are eating themselves alive.

Technically that's all my fault, new muffler, new CV joints, and finally un-seized the LCA bolts so it's off to alignment for me!

    Thanks DoubleD!

I will/ should be available Wednesday if you need. I am doing a melt on some gold and that shouldn't take to long. Now pulling that gold into WIRE and cutting, well that will take a couple hours hopefully will be done in the early afternoon.

I should be available after diiner time between 4-5.

Heres some helpful pics by the way.

Thanks for the pictures Skygear. I PM'd Toytec with some other questions, so hopefully they can help me out a little bit. And Daniel, I would love your help, but I don't think I can drop another $100 into this round of mods, especially since I will spend about $90 getting an alignment after.

I can order pizza or something for anyone helping to get a free lunch/dinner if that helps.

Tracking says they should come in Wednesday, and I'm really in no rush to get them on. Thanks for the PM Skygear, I'll be sure to post up in the forum or text you when they're in.

Here's the link. It's the 1/2'' TPS Kit from Toytec.

New exhaust is great. Isn't much louder when cruising but the sound is awesome under power. Should get rid of the rasp once it breaks in

    Yep, simple to do.

    1. Jack Up.
    2. Wheel off

    in no particular order,

    3. bottom coilover bolt,
    4. top 3 coilover nuts
    5. LCA Marking of the cam bolts/ nuts
    6. loostening of the LCA cam bolts/ nuts
    7. Drop Coilover
    8. Spacer on -

    Reverse.

Start on opposite side. - Probably an hour to hour n a half. Those nuts on top of the coilovers are always a pain in the ass. They are the most time consuming part of the whole process.
