Pretty clear that Canada is last resort for Bettman. I think he's been delaying as much as he could in PHX just to buy time for Seattle to get their shit together. All of this while Quebec is waiting with open arms for a team.

The City of Glendale has announced that it has agreed on the principal issues to keep the Coyotes and they just need to vote on it.

Yes, the vote is set for the 25th and the NHL has a meeting set for the 27th. So one way or another, this will be over soon.

Those are nice! Quebec always had sweet jerseys. A lot of NHL teams jerseys are kinda meh. I think Quebec would have been a much better option than Winnipeg. It will be interesting to see how many players bail on Peg and if they can get any UFA's.

I think that is who I was referring to. I see NBC broadcasts so rarely that I can't be entirely sure. I just remember thinkin the guy who was working the last game I saw was excellent at his job. It was likely that guy.

Bettman isn't necessarily just choosing specific cities or countries. He is looking for owners who play along with his vision. This includes buildings that are owned and ready to make money . Winnipeg had both of those happening when a team came available. There was no other spot truly ready so Winnipeg got the team. The ownership in Winnipeg is rock solid with Thompson happens to be the richest man in Canada.
