Short box vs Long box

Most difficult option choice for me. DCLB. Think the short bed looks better, but what use is a 5 ft pickup bed?

You have Dakars, this shouldn't be an issue (now). What kind of camping gear are we talking about?

 

I'v got 2 tool boxes in my bed and still drove home with $1300 worth of cabinets in, on, strapped to my short bed. You long bed guys have no imagination when it comes to strapping crap down. Have a big bag of ratchet straps, bungies, and cord, just to keep it all in my little bed. Now go out there and chop out 13 inches of your frame and relax.

Should've got a full size. Always baffles me, you bought a midsize pickup and then opted to make it as long as a Suburban without the payload

So you intentionally wanted the size of a full size but not the capability? Still not following.

I'm fitting as much into my SB as guys with LB's, and yet "should have got a long bed". Tsk tsk tsk, that's no fun.

I can't believe the US trucks come with a 3 leaf pack

 

We've come to an agreement in this thread. The 3-leaf is garbage!

 

So is the 4 leaf

My stock 4 leaf pack was flat after about 6 months of hauling my toolbox and tools

 

It is weird to me that Canada gets the 4 leaf out the door. Some type of law or something? Lame, but I'm sure its money related somehow.

 

I hardly haul anything and have towed twice. 6 months later my leafs are damn near flat.

 

I think its safe to call that a consensus.

 

I think it has more to do with market factors

American markets tend to view the mid size truck as a grocery getter or offroading platform , and many own full size trucks as well

Canadians tend to use smaller trucks as work trucks
