Yes I agree they look better behind the grill, but for more light output and ease of cleaning mine will go on the bumper or built into it.

    I voted light bar.
Though I like the clean looks of the behind grill set-up, functionality wise the light bar is best.

I like them! Believe it or not I've never actually seen a set in person. I would have opted for them if they had a white one on the lot with them.

I had Hella 500 behind my grill on my old truck. I was really dissatisfied with the light output on them. When I buy lights for my new truck I'm getting something a lot brighter.

NFAB's here also, with 4 Hella 500's with 100w bulbs put in. Lots of light output! Although I think it will be coming off shortly and a 30" led light bar in the lower grill.

Got to ask why 4 lights extra other then just being cool.

In most states they only let you run 4 clears on the front and that would be the normal driving and 2 more like the factory driving/fog.
I could see adding 2 more that are better then the little lights they add.
Some of those just look like the would block air flow to the truck and add to the drag killing a few MPG.

Not saying it looks bad or should not be done but just asking.

Most of the time off roading on trails, we would limit the # of lights for our off road club as it blinds the people in front.

Most the time on OBX they will pull you for more then 4 clear.

who knows. Just asking, when you would use the 4 factory and then 4 more aftermarket?

I have thought about adding 2 to the Front but low to the ground. The fishing basket / rods blocks the Headlights some now and lower I have found to be better in the sand for fishing on my old trucks.

I run 4 because it would look silly with 2 on the N-Fab bar since it has 4 tabs ;)

In all seriousness, I have always used PIAA lights and have had really good luck with them. Thanks to Pugga I have them wired into my high beam circuit on my truck and they only come on with the high beams.
My drive to work is 24 miles of country back road that is heavily populated with deer and other animals that love to hang out on the road. I am usually the only vehicle on the road so I like being able to throw as much light as I can at them. Believe me... The HID lights along with the 4 PIAA's do just that. I can see forever with them so it is more of a safety factor with me because of where I have to drive and when I have to drive.
Add to that... They look cool as shit on the truck and it is a win win for me.

As far as them blocking any air flow? Nope... not at all. Truck still runs at 185-186* all the time according to the Ultra-Gauge.

I put 4 because the light bar has 4 tabs. Other than that, I've got 2 facing straight down the road and the outer 2 lighting the shoulders. As far as legality, most of these lights aren't legal for road use anyways. They aren't DOT stamped and lots of states require you to keep the covered on the road. I've got mine wired to 2 double throw switches, one position for them to work with the high beams, one position so I can switch them on whenever I want. When driving down a dark back road, having all that light is awesome for spotting deer down the road before they become a problem. These lights are absolutely not meant to be used around traffic. At the end of the day, sure, it's more light than I probably NEED but dammit, this is 'Merica?
