Yah but it seems like these days... a photo that doesnt have some effect or somehow modified are just boring pictures. I enjoy untouched photos that just.... Beauty before you even get it to your computer.

Due to the release of the 7100, Adorama was selling refurbished 7000s for $749 shipped. They may still be, I would look into that. Great price for such a camera.

So after driving through a lot of amazing scenery on the way to Holloman AFB, I had to buy a camera... Haha

Nikon D5100 with the regular 18-55mm lens.

I'm so new to photography, I have no idea what I'm doing...

You'll grow and learn, man. Just make sure you're enjoying the process rather than stressing that you're not where you'd like to be yet. I'm no pro, relatively new actually, but always can make time to answer questions if ya have any. I'm sure others can as well. For now learn about composition, basics like rule of thirds and leading lines, and what the different settings on your camera do. ISO, aperture and shutter speed. Play with each and get to know your camera. Congrats on the new purchase. I look forward to seeing your photography grow.

Just realize this hobby can easily become just as expensive as modding trucks.

    Not enough.
My brother letting some lead fly. B&W seemed right on this for some reason.

Layered burst of 30 shots/sec. Cleaned up the gasses near the ejection port to make hes face clearer.

    Don't worry, I wasn't right up on the barrel, I had the camera on a 5ft pole.:D

No problem, I may be joining you. I'm still holding out to see if the 7100 price drops or my buddy will sell me his old 7000 when he goes full frame for cheap. I'm in no hurry :D
