X2 where the heck are we going?

Edit- how about MSV and coney flats (unless they will be too busy on opening day) if they open but if they don't let's do either spring creek or bill Moore?

...moody hill and crystal mtn just opened up today too. We could hit those two and if we felt we needed more we could either go hit storm mountain or tour new Belgium.

Let's hit up crystal and moody then! Who all is going again? Should we vote or just roll with these? Who started organizing this?

Bob started this. If we all cannot make one we can always do 2 separate runs.

True, I have been wanting to run a trail with you guys though. Been on here for a while and even after Moab, have never been wheeling with you or bob, let alone the newer guys. But it will happen though. I think I will need to commit to crystal and moody just for the sake of staying close to home. I have been gone a lot lately.

I have some buddies running it next week that drove out here from Tennessee, curious as to how far they make it.

Even past the creek? I've been up there in July only to get stumped by drifts past the creek.

Could be the stream crossings are ridiculous. They can't be bypassed on that trail, I don't think so anyway.

I hiked up to HC city Sunday.
There are some drifts past the creek (small ones), but if you make it that far, snow drifts should be easy for ya.

I actually like hitting a little snow, makes things intresting.

I'm game for almost anything. I was thinking of taking the 83 pickup. If it is really far away I'll be in the 4runner.

I was liking the idea of the Montezuma area. Above tree line would be cool. Bill Moore might still be too snowy, a recent trip report showed that Red Elephant was opened to Bill Moore but they gave up after that. Spring Creek is open all the way through as of the end of May. Last Weekend a group made it to Wheeler Lake.

i was definitely looking forward to the montezuma area but sounds like everything is closed from the valley over to the ridge trails (webster north side, st johns, deer creek). not sure about the breck side but those trails are tight in the trees and snowy trails would not be fun there..

i'm always down for wheeler lake

MSV/Coney would be fun with the pond crossing and high water, but sounds like it'll be a while (for no reason)

i definitely want to get up, but it wouldn't take much to pull me away to go downhill and finish with an afternoon canyon trip on the tt...

so i'd say, pick some trails. don't rely on me as i'm on the fence about going. but i'd hop in on a trail depending where it is. getting a bit annoyed (as i do every year) on these late trail openings

I hear ya, as long as you get outside doing something. Is there anyone who would be interested in going up to crystal and moody on Sunday? If I'm the only northerner who is going you all can pick something down there and I should make it. Spring creek sounds fun.

to many to list, check the build thread
I would be game to go up north but its a 2 hour drive just to get to the trail head for me. Im gonna see what options are picked a little closer and keep you posted.

I wouldnt mind doing slaughter house gulch down here. Im not certain i would be comfortable on spring creek unless someone else tells me otherwise

I'm going to go run Guanalla Pass and Twin Cone on sunday if anyone is interested in going. It's just me and a guy in a 4runner at the moment, but any and all are welcome.
