If any one seems to figure out a way to fabricate these, please count me in.
Next year I will probably end up purchasing the Grillcraft upper and lower and do those. That in itself would cost me $310 and I would still have to install it. But I hope someone beats me and does what HomerTaco does with <2012.

As you can see, I would be up to paying more for a quality product that I do nothing but remove/replace.

ya sure, ill PM you tomorrow later in the day. its not much fiberglass, you can buy a fiberglass repair kit at walmart, that will be enough to do it and have everything you need for the fiberglass part. then the amount of bondo depends on your fiberglass skills, lol. I would recommend buying a polyester putty or finishing putty for your final coat or coats if you want a perfect surface.

Awesome, thanks..didn't get time to dig out the extra grill to start cutting it yesterday..might not have much time till next week..but I did order the mesh and emblem.so no turning back now!

Yea..the fiberglass is what I am curious about mostly..bondo seems to be just like putting puddy on a wall..and sanding alot. Did you have to use something to hold the fiberglass while putting it on? I think I read someone a while back said they used tape so put the fiberglass on then taking it off before it dried..or something like that.

Yep, fiberglass doesnt stick to masking tape. Ill send you some pictures in a few hours, and ill be happy to give you some pointers or answer any questions. Bondo isnt very hard to work with, but not as easy as joint compound or something you would use on a wall. Its much harder to sand. Poly putty is alot easier to sand. I like to do first coat bondo then a few coats of polyester finishing putty.

You ordered the mesh and your bending it yourself? Or did you find someone that bends it?
Where did you get the emblem?

I really want this so bad.

I have been working on one, but I am just going straight up satoshi style with flat mesh. those big metal letters are made by BAMF, look him up in the vendor section and PM him if your serious about buying the letters. I considered bending the metal, I have a siding brake that will bend the mesh no problem. just takes more work and I bet those letters are not cheap.
