i couldnt find an existing thread to my question which may sound dumb to those who are more familiar with wheels....anyhow my question is i bought new lug locks (1 for each wheel) for my 6lug factory alloy wheels....do i have put a jack under to remove the one lug to install the lock or can i just remove the lug while the wheel is still on the ground and put the lock on without it doing any damage?

should be fine without jacking it up...the other 5 lug nuts will hold the wheel in place
