More pics with the new camera

I am still trying to learn all of the functions with the new camera but the best way is by taking pics.
I took these at Joe Pool Lake

Good-looking pics

 

We have that vine from the first pic growing on our back fence. That is wild looking flower.

 

I got a Canon Rebel XT. All of the pics but the first were taken with a Tamron 70-300mm lens. The first was taken with the 18-55 Canon lens the camera comes with.

 

That is called a passion flower. It is deffinatly a wild looking flower. The vine produces fruit and some types are edible.

 

Nice subjects. Though they seem a little out of focus. Are you set to manual or automatic focusing? I have the XTi so I can help you with any questions you have. They're practically the same camera.

 

Nice pics, but they would have looked better with a Nikon, just kidding. The pics are nice, that flower pic is very vivid.

That boat sure does look exciting.

 

I think some of them seem a little out of focus because it was low light when some of them were taken. The ducks were shot from the shadows and the large bird was taken when it was almost dark. Slow shuter speed and no tripod don't mix to well.
Thanks for the offer. I have a friend that is a professional photographer that I got the camera from and have not had the chance for him to show me everything.

 

Yup, that'll do it. Do you have any imaging editing software like Photoshop, Elements or Darkroom? They can really make your images "pop".

In your flower picture, I've applied sharpening, darkening highlights, brightened the image, increased saturation as well as contrast and added a tiny amount of red to the overall image.

WOW! That looks great. Thanks for doing that. I have plans to get something for editing but this is a very new hobby so I must be patient.

 

If you don't want to dish out $700 or so on the latest and greatest photoshop cs 9343 or whatever they are up to now then I recommend photoshop elements it obviously doesn't have all the features but if your not a pro I think its more than enough. It's only like $50 also.

BTW, if you have a Mac, Pixelmator is a good alternative. It's called "Photoshop for the rest of us" )
