    If I was loaded I wouldn't have a Tacoma.

That's a lie. I would. But I would have exactly what I want.

I am self employed and work almost exclusively on a commission basis so when I close a deal. 15% goes to taxes, 10% savings, 10% charity, 10% investments 40% to home and living expenses. That leaves me 15% to play with which means travel and truck right now. I saved and payed cash for my truck so my only debt is my house. Kids are off at college and taking care of themselves and I am single now so the decision making/allocation is simple. Just bought a Pelfreybilt front bumper. Hope to upgrade suspension and do a rear bumper later this summer when I have some big deals closing.

If I didn't have student loans to pay off, it would be much easier to afford mods.

Always a douche in the crowd...

    1. LED not LEAD
    2. I'm educated and successful.

I'm 26, I work at the corporate office of the largest utility company in the US. I have a lawn care business I co-own, investment property I co-own. I bought a house at age 23.. Got married last year at 25, and had my first child this year.

I make plenty enough money, but I choose to let me wife work limited hours to be home with our son... I put my needs/wants last.

I was looking to see what comical responses the TW fam would give... Not for you to be a dick

I should just start slingin' rock. Do it for a year and quit the game. Solid life plan.

The risk is that you're upside down on the loan if the vehicle gets totaled. Lots of uninsured people on the road these days.

It's also risky if you live like a lot of people and don't have any savings. Lose your job, get injured, have some major unexpected expense so you can't make a payment? Kills your credit. And, if you really get in a bind, you can lose the vehicle.

Best to own things outright where no one can take them away. Living within your means isn't easy, but in the long run it works out better. I have absolutely no debt at all. I have lots of credit if things go south, but I also have retirement accounts and savings to fall back on. The best part is, the only thing keeping me from buying whatever I want is my own cheapness.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
x2 paid off my tacoma right after bottomless pit was no longer in the picture. live with gf now. I help with expenses but it's her mortgage etc.
    :D

oh my name is Rich. and tacoma was under $20k brand new.

Nice Jay i didnt know the wifey was an RPH, awesome career for sure

I'm a pharmacy technician(CPht) and live at home. Very little debt and make decent money, while trying to get into pharmacy school to be a pharmacist, the gf also has a good job and approves of modding the tacoma.
