Well a quick trip to Ace Hardware for a few eye bolts took care of the flag mounts. Don't you just love taking the drill to a two day old truck?

The flags are 3x5 and the poles are 5 foot 1/2" ID PVC that we use, I have bags of them. I set up the Harley mount so I can use these as well. I got a couple small hose clamps that I can put on the bottom to keep them from popping out. The light is just a cheapo ebay led flasher for tail-gunning funeral escorts. It's pretty solid but I'll probably use window flags if we plan on going faster than 45 or so.

Hadn't planned on it but I saw a can of plasti dip and thought I'd try it after seeing all the posts here about it. This stuff is brilliant. Did the front and back emblems and the old chrome license plate frame.

    Enjoy,

    :oldglory:

Well 3" was really the max I wanted to go. I'd really like to lift it some so when I'm offroad I don't run into rubbing problems since I'm going with the biggest tires I can. Might just get the toytech spacer kit with the 1.5" leafs. Would 2.5" be hell on the front shafts?

I mentioned the spacer kit since I really don't expect to be running it hard offroad. I mainly just need the clearance for getting over stuff on our hunting trips.

It's a matter of degrees. Anything over stock will shorten their life, IF you are flexing the suspension or running 4x4 while cranking the wheels, even more if you run 4x4 when you shouldn't (good traction).
Spacers make the ride more stiff, but the main issue is they increase the available up-travel of the suspension without changing the travel of the shock and spring. With a spacer lift, you'll bind the coils or bottom the shock out before you hit the snubber. The result is bending or breaking the bottom of the shock and a ruined weekend.

Other than the stiffer ride, the damage can be prevented by extending the snubber the same amount as the spacer. I think extended snubbers are available for most vehicles.

Cozmo, I really like that set up. What size tires and ... any lift? Thanks.

Okay. I think I may just go with adjustable coilovers with the 5100s and set them at 1.5 or 2". Any problems with running 1.5 or 2 inch leafs? What can be done to help withe the cv shafts? With what I'll be doing I don't expect to have problems with them but if I do I'd like to know what can be done. Thanks for answering my questions.

Need some advice fellow single cabbers...

I want new tires but I cannot decide between finding a Load Range C tire or going with the more readily available Load Range D. I had Load Range E on my TRD Sport double cab years ago and while I loved them and they muscled through everything I threw at them...the ride quality was shit.

I am leaning towards Load Range C, just to preserve the awesome factory ride while still getting beefier tires than the Dunlops that come from Toyota, but the idea of having an even beefier tire is appealing.

I need opinions from those of you more experienced with the single cabs, please.
