    Ok I will write what I did, maybe someone will chime it while I am writing.

    As per instructions here the two black bolts on both sides remove the bumber. The silver ones are for the hitch.
    I removed the two by the plate then went to work on the silver ones, followed by the black since they screw through the hitch to the bumper.
    Of cousr side of bumper is now loose.
    But if I drop the hitch, I have no location to screw the black bolts back into, just the bumper itself.
    I'm screwed huh, and have to put it all back together, and thus break it down again once the new bumper comes.

    You dont need to remove the hitch to pull the bumper off. There are 2 bolts on each side, nerest to the bumper that you remove. They are tucked up in there.

    I seen that, but I am trying to sell the hitch first, plus with the new bumper has its own hitch.
    The hitch has to be on to mount the bumper?

    Unless you have the mounts from a Tacoma that doesnt have the hitch, then, yes.
