I drift the truck on gravel mountain switch backs, like it is supposed to do. I drift on the track in my Supra. Don't be a doucher like those assholes in California that blocked the freeway.

Good luck safely drifting on pavement. For xrunners to do reasonable drifts, they are running turbo's and S/C's on their V6. The V6 alone doesn't have enough power to light up the tires well enough on pavement to effectively drift.

*Notice this is on a track*
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7ebFC40Obw

After that the only way to drift is to use the ebrake, which is not safe at all on these rearwheel drive vehicles and the placement of the ebrake handle/pedal, especially since it would require some speed to get much of a drift and pavement tends to be grippy. Just too easy to roll a truck.

Best route, go find some sand out in some dunes or something:D Watch for people and have a little fun, just don't go too crazy. They still can roll!

Snow works too:D but not as good as my ones in the sand.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_zKH0yEEjI

In short sand, snow and gravel work great, just watch for other people and keep your speed down so you don't fuck shit up like the 2 videos that were posted on the 1st page.

You can drift a stock XR just fine. Ive done it plenty of times at the track. Obviously a supercharger helps but the v6 makes enough power with the light rear end to get sideways and hold it

Yeah these trucks definitely not meant for drifting haha. My 01 was rolled when a chevy 1500 t boned me in the middle of an intersection. I was very impressed the way the truck took the impact and how the roof held up. It saved my passengers life!

That video of the X-Runner is N/A

    http://www.xr-underground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51570

I have no problem getting the back wheels to spin or the rear end to break loose (If I want to [I don't want to 90% of the time because tires are expensive]). The X-Runners are 6 speeds so you can control the revs to what point you release the clutch if starting from a dig and hold the gears up high. 282LB Ft of torque is enough to get her to swing... Can be easier to do too with a less sticky set of tires.

However, The OP has a 4cyl...

I see. I guess I was off there (no real experience with drifting a RWD). I am running 4.88 gears and I can't break my 33's loose for nothing so I imagine the smaller tires help a lot too.

It does, as does the firmness of the suspension make a difference too.

Every once in a while I eat Taco Bell in my tuck while on lunch. One time, my chicken soft taco rolled right out of my lap onto the floorboard. It was totaled.

detective dan, the OP is clearly an idiot so I gave him an idiot answer. If he's dumb enough to drift his truck he deserves whatever he gets. It's a fucking truck not a Nissan GTR.
