Glad you got those..all that paint you where hauling around was stressing the frame a lot..

    Which reminds me.

When I take my fender flares off to refinish them, I'm taking the inner plastic wheel well trim off and blacking out the red body of the wheel wells themselves.

I'm really diggin' the progression of your build Madjik!

Quick question; how did you arrive at using bed armor/primer and paint combo? I am looking to do a similar coating application and there are a myriad of options out there, figured you would have some insight.

    Thank you.

This is the first time I used Bed Armor, or any kind of bed liner product in a can.

There's a poster, I think his name is Gearhead (or something like that), that posted a pic of his tool box that he used Bed Armor on, and I really liked the look/texture.

Then 45acp showed up with his front bumper Bed Armor'd and I really liked it. So I picked up two cans. $11 ea, so it's kind of spendy.

The back of the can doesn't mention the used of primer but I didn't want to chance it with my frame that was just stripped down to the bare metal. So I went with a few light coats of self-etching primer. I can't imagine it being detrimental since it just promotes mechanical adhesion.

It's like I bought it from one of those vendors on the NYC street corner selling knock offs... you know, the guys who have all their merchandise in bags that are ready to be slammed shut and hauled off when a cop shows up.

Lol I thought it was a Box Rocket rack.

It looks good. I like how you can still use your topper with the rack. I may want to do something similar for my softopper. :spy:

    Great build so far!
