I have a brand new 2013 TRD sport DCLB. Just calculated my mpg after about 800 miles and my average is 13.9mpg :(

    Mostly city driving but really?!?

Any ideas? I drive like a granny too...

Dunno man.... I'm really glad that I've got a 2011. I have seen a bunch of threads about bad MPG out of the 12-13 trucks. I've been averaging 22-23 consistently although I'm like you and drive like a grandpa.

City driving kills it, especially in SoCal.

My 2013 has, so far ( on my third tank) averaged almost 17mpg, pretty much entirely city driving.

Hang in there, it will get better as the truck breaks in. My first couple of tanks were awful, but now I get from 15 to 21 mpg (US gals) pretty consistently, with most tanks being around 20. Stay below 2500 rpm and 65 mph to get near 20 mpg. Mileage takes a serious nosedive if I go faster.

That sounds about right for brand new with Ethanol gas and city driving. It should slowly get better.

I started out new at 15 to 16 with mixed driving and am getting 17 to 18 on Summer gas now. All 91 Octane Premium with no Ethanol though. I don't have a light foot either.

I'm happy to see 15+ mpg! ;) I did not buy a truck for economy. That's a Prius or Yaris. I do get 20+ on the highway at 5 mph over and cruise control....

Yea I'm thinking everyone doesn't buy a truck for fuel economy duh?! But I should at least get what is advertised on the sticker don't you think? Especially considering I baby the thing. Lets hope it goes up after a break in period.

i know have 82,000 with regular service and im still getting 12-14 mpg, Toyota's stance has been if there is no code, there is not a problem.

OP, I assume your truck is bone stock? It will get slowly better but all trucks are different, and keep in mind, if you lift and get big tires expect a huge drop. I average 10-12, mostly city driving on 6" of lift running 35's.

This is true, here in Houston we are down to $2.29/gallon at some places. I just filled up for under $40 for the first time in a while.

Are you calculating the correct way. Fill a tank and reset odometer. Drive until next fill. Fill tank and record gallons. Divide mileage into gallons filled. That's the most accurate way.

I consistently get 22 highway since I bought it new. My mileage has never changed. City is probably closer to 16-17.
