    The trunk is 4in in diameter. The top of the root ball is about 18in in diameter. Dug down about 1ft so far. Time to use a hatchet on the bottom of the root ball. Will try to post up a pic tomorrow.

    In riding circles there's a truism you either live or die by (or skin your knees really bad when you least expect it!). It's summed up with the letters ATGATT, ..meaning All The Gear All The Time.

    What I wear is NOT ATGATT, and I won't claim it is. But its enough of the gear most of the time for the type of riding I do!

    Riding rocky Arizona desert canyon trails when the weather is cool, like in February this year, is a lot of fun. Laying your bike down unexpectedly on a slippery section of rocky trail is no fun at all, especially if you're wearing no protection at all!

    I wear a helmet, a ventilated armored riding jacket with shoulder, back, arm and elbow pads built in, along with knee and shin guards strapped on over my Wrangler jeans. Add to that sturdy military style boots that offer protection while letting me move well if need be, and I've managed more than a couple of unplanned get offs without major damage to me or the bike! ..Knock on wood!!!

    George: I went down once at 5 MPH. Had a set of keys in my front jeans pocket. After that I never rode with anything in any pocket. Keys left a nasty rash. I do not blame you for any added protection.

    With a Tacoma you shouldn't have to dig things like that out! Just strap a chain around them at the base, hook up solidly to your truck, pull the sucker out of the ground and drag it away!! Done this many times and it's never failed me yet!

    hehe I know the feeling!! I dug down about 3' to get the one stump out... had a two inch tap root. Saw took care of it :) Then it was fun to get out of the hole.... "walked" it up - pushed the stump one way, shoveled dirt on that side, pushed it the other way, put more dirt and so on, until I was at ground level. And :rant: dogs keep digging the hole back up :mad: :eek:
