Small world! I used to go dirtbike riding all the time as a kid with the guys on the side car, Dave Hennesey and Jeremiah Owsley. I actually got a chance to ride that beast of a TL1000 side car rig a few years ago, absolutely insane.

I noticed you used the trail gear sliders, I ordered some and am contemplating bolting them onto the frame instead of welding. do you think this would work?

I would definitely weld them on. Not likely that you'll need to ever take them off and if you do, its a simple thing to cut them off with a sawzall right at the frame plate. Then get the powder coated or whatever else you need while they're off and welde them back to the frame plates.

I don't think the bolt on approach with the TG sliders will be as strong.

ya im leaning that way. it does seem easier and stronger just to weld them on, although I have been doing some reading and the topic has coma up a couple times that when you weld them on it can cause frame rust on the inside of the frame when the weld heats the factory paint in their. do you think this is true

I suppose that could happen but there are countless people with welded sliders that have not reported any issues with the frame. I wouldn't worry about it.

On another note.........I'm making a sizeable purchase this week for the truck. So pumped!

Bolt on sliders are fine, IF the mounting brackets are designed that way. The TG ones are not.

.....the other thing, you'll have to wait and see.

Does it start with "solid" and end with "axle?"

You're both wrong and maybe I'm more excited about it than I should be, but it's been on my list for a long time so I'm stoked.
