Yes. I did same, 24 hrs to set before wiping grout or it wears it off to much. Also I wait 2 weeks before sealing. How long do u guys wait before sealing ?

 

They are individual boards. It's all tongue and groove, about 3/4" thick.

 

dday I used bostik urethane grout that doesnt need to be sealed. It also went on and cleaned up really easy. It was a lot cleaner then cement based grout. But it is also expensive.

 

I bought a chemical (grout boost) that mixes with the grout instead of water. It seals the grout.

 

I also need to seal tile. Travertine needs it.

 

Hallway was a PITA...wasnt square. The coat closet was easier than this...

 

I have never heard of such a practice. Would one not worry about the safety factor of a leak or accidental hit from say a future dig? Cost wise it I could understand, but from a safety stand point black pipe rarely freezes and cracks. Plastic well not much can be said about that one. Seems like the Townships should be more concerned with the use of plastic pipes to carry such precious cargo.

 

Plastic pipes are better , faster , cheaper

I havent heard of it either, but I wouldnt be surprised. Even pvc is more resilient to a shovel than insulation on an underground wire though. thats where the whole "call before you dig" comes into play. if you dont have a mark out and you are digging and hit something, not only are you responsible for repairs, but you are lucky if you didnt get hurt.

 

Not nearly as exciting as putting in new floors like you all have been up to, but I replaced the old mercury thermostat in the house today with a Nest Learning Thermostat. I happened across it at a good price and the power company offered me a rebate for the purchase as well. I'll be excited to see the difference it makes in power bills.

They look nice, too. Really makes my need for new paint in the family room stand out.

 

around here when a new under ground gas line is installed it is required to place a plastic "caution tape" type item 16" above line in said trench

It was petrified hickory-fossil. It is made by Shaw floors but we bought it through Floor Trader.

Finished the flooring on Friday.

 

Got a 6ft privacy fence installed, 425ft 4ft rear door and 2 5fts across driveway. Ripped up old carpet and now have 18" tiles 970 sq ft. Rustoleum deck restore that rolls on thick. lots of work!!!
