    you've probably only heard the crap thats played on the pop music stations...

    there is some "hip hop" or "rap" that takes an incredible amount of talent and sounds great when listened to without an overbearing amount of bass

    Not that it's the "heavy" you are looking for, but Big Tymers - Still Fly at 2:32 reaches deeper than any song I know. I have yet to see another song cause a speaker to move so deeply and slowly. It isn't so much in your face bass as it is just impressive to watch.
