How does the size of the tire offer protection of the wheel ?

 

Tire overhangs the wheel.

 

Some tires actually have a bulge in the side wall to protect the rims

The last set of 33s I ran on my 95 had the bead set back off the the wall of the tire well over an inch. An act of god wasn't going to bugger up the wheel. But those tires were somewhere close to 12" in tread width. Clutch-killing gas-guzzling monsters.

 

Nice, the owner is real cool guy. He owns Flat Patties and Crema also. We might go to New Orleans for him to do a build out.

 

That's awesome! I've never been to Crema but I was not a fan of Flat Patties last time I went there. Felipe's is one of my favorite places around though.

If you know him well, you might want to suggest he needs to season the burgers at Flat Patties! Also, their cooks need some re-training. There were a lot of issues last time I went.
