Does anyone know for sure the specifics of VA Inspection exhaust laws? I want to cut and dump my exhaust after the axle but don't want to make it illegal. I've read a couple things saying that VA laws just say the "exhaust has to be dumped past the passenger compartment (cab)" but I have seen others that say the "exhaust has to exit out the side/rear of the vehicle."

I had my truck inspected and emissions three weeks ago after I cut the exhaust pipe off at the muffler, no down turn, nothing. Tech did a visual inspection and passed me.
