The Taco's maiden voyage in the mud went just fine and dandy until I slipped down the side of some deep, wide, and muddy ruts. Heard the skid plates bottom, and let out a few choice words. I was good and stuck.

A friend showed up to pull me out, but I sure felt like an idiot.

Those tires are doing ya no good. Different tires and you'd have been ok.

Bigger tires would have been useful, but not doing anything stupid would have been even better!

We've all been there, at least you had friends nearby! I got stuck in 3' deep snow once, took 4 trucks a total of 4 hours to get me out. No to mention I was only about 100 yards from the road.

I'll head back out and take some photos of where I got stuck. That's the most embarrassing part. I had driven through deep water and mud others were avoiding, and then get stuck in a spot of deep mud in a bigger truck's rut surrounded by hard packed dirt and clay! There wasn't a wet speck of Earth within 50yds of where I finally got stuck and a friend pulled me out by my front hook with his 2wd Dodge. :banghead:

don't beat yourself up too much... take heart in the fact that if it had been the other way around (the dodge stuck and you pulling), it'd have been a ten minute job

Don't feel bad, I got stuck a week after getting my truck, cost me $60 to get pulled out. Same situation, better tires and I wouldn't have had a problem.

Well the Taco was redeemed today when I pulled a few cars and even a much larger truck (F250 Super Duty 4x4) out of the sand on the beach. I've had it for a little more than a month and it's got 3500 very happy miles on it.
