    It's 2" longer so there isnt as much load on the spring so its probably softer

    Potholes and bumps feel way better, nice to have the option to crank more for more bracket clearance

    That just allows the shock to travel smoother throughout the spring because the upper and lower portions of the spring aren't already compressed. The increased strength in the coils should make it pretty close in tensile strength to the shorter compressed spring.
