New Taco Owner!

Hi everyone! Another new Tacoma owner in the San Diego area. For Father's Day, hubby got to drive home a new '09 PreRunner Double Cab TRD Off-road. But lucky me, I get to drive it for a couple of weeks.

I've lurked on the forum for a couple of months trying to learn about all the trims, styles, etc. Great forum with lots of information. I learned enough to at least know what we were looking at when we went truck shopping. Now I'm reading through the mod threads see what else I can put on our new baby.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! jrw, to be fair, buying him a new truck was the only way to get him to stop driving his beat-up '87 Chevy Barretta, aka the Tank.

Sounds like you're the actual owner and he's the visitor of the Tacoma. You're on TW looking at the actuals models and now you're looking into mods. I think we know who wants to drive the Tacoma and that Father's Day was just an excuse to go get it. LOL. All I got was breakfast in bed which by the way is still very nice.

lol, thanks guys! I keep telling him I'm a keeper. We have a running joke at home. I'm in charge of Acquisitions (which I take very seriously ) as well as Research and Operations. He's the CFO, book keeper, accounts receivable/payable, and facilities.

But really, the Taco is for him. He works on a Navy base so we thought it would just be easier for me to drive the Taco and him my Rav4 until the registration comes. He can't get permanent base stickers without it. But I think the real reason he wanted me to drive it was so I can set up all the stations and bluetooth. So guess that would also make me in charge of AV too.

I have to admit I really enjoyed my first day with it. Maybe a little too much. And I love that backup camera. Wish I had it on the Rav.
