How much do 2 bobcat scoops of pea gravel weigh? The guy I bought it from said it was 1/2 a yard, and it made my suspension hit the bump stops. I hope I didn't break anything, seems fine but I've never had it that weighed down before. Definitely buying the wheelers hd springs when I have the money.

Do an internet search. I want to say a yard would be 2000+. Not much aid in pea gravel.

When I was picking up several batches of 3/4" (crushed) decorative rock a few years ago, I was told it ran 2500lbs/yd. If you're talking about pea (3/8) then you're probably looking a bit heavier because it's more tightly packed. Of course different types of stone have different densities, but this is probably a fair starting point.

OME complete kit with dakars, LR UCAs, Seat covers, weathertechs, anytime foglight mod, ABS kill switch, locker anytime mod, powered sub, halos, leer topper, aux/ipod hookup.
Might want to double check on the yardage too, I've ran a few bobcats in the last few years at nurserys and I've only ever seen a yard bucket and 1/2 yard bucket, never a 1/4 yard bucket.

Wouldn't that suck if he got a full yard of it....

OP, this is just over a yard of mulch in my old DCSB. Was yours about this much? Keep in mind that it was poured in and is higher in the center...

Ok, so a couple questions here. I thought these had a 1400 lb load limit? I don't think it's a full yard, at least looking at it unloaded in my yard. If it was then yeah, I was way overloaded. The bucket was a little shorter than the bed, so not quite 5 ft wide. Don't know if you can tell from that if its a 1/2 bucket or not. If it was a full yard I got it for half price, the guy only charged me $15 for it. I was thinking of getting it delivered but people around here wanted anywhere from $60 to $110 for a yard delivered.

My guess is it was a half-yard. If it was a full then you probably would've broken something. These springs are crap and even with the four leafs (TSB) I have now, I have no doubt I'd be riding the stops with 14-1500 lbs.

Hey if you plan on hauling a lot you could check out some firestone air bags, they should keep it from bottoming out. I think several guys here have them and like the way you can adjust the psi.

A heaping skidsteer bucket (5 foot wide bucket) is 3/4 yard. So about 2k lbs +/- 250 lbs depending on if the gravel was wet or dry and the size of the fines.

So for my truck I usually just get one heaping scoop (2k lbs), and that puts me on the bump stops indicating i'm at my max load.

With 1 scoop I could fit 3 fingers between spring and bump stop, 2 scoops put it just a hair from the bump stop.

Either way, can somebody confirm the actual Toyota weight limit for the bed? The reason I'm asking is my manual says 1200, but I've seen other sources say 1400. Is this like the gas octane recommendation, did toyota change it after the first or second year??

1400 is total capacity not just the bed. You need to subtract your weight. I believe there is no way a full yard would even fit in a Taco bed.
