    I need insight on this.

I recently bought a Tacoma, currently has around 150 miles on it and I am scheduled for a business trip next week.

I did search these forums and found different answers on how to properly break in a Taco, but how should I go about taking this trip?

Just go on the trip...business as usual. There modern engines not like the ones in the past there really no break in. I bought my truck 300 mi from my home and drove it straight home there no problems with it

Most people will agree that you shouldn't drive on the highway for extended periods until you have 500 miles on the truck. Some people will say that it makes no difference...

Personally, I avoided highway driving (sustained rpm) until 500 miles. If you have to drive it, it wont kill the truck, but I would change the oil when you get back.

Just drive it as much as possible around town this week to build up to the above recommended 500 miles and you should be fine. Either way, you'll probably be fine though.

So what happens to people who buy their trucks/cars out of town? Im pretty sure there be a warning against it from manufactures. I understand your point if it were back years ago but these engines have tighter tolerances, there really no break in period on modern engines
