Because Pew, Pew, Pew is so much cooler than Bang, Bang Bang. :D Seriously, I get a cheese eating grin whenever I shoot mine. The .22s are especially fun for some reason; I think part of it is watching the dogs looking around trying to figure out what that noise is and the other is how quiet it is (with subsonic ammo my .22 pistol sounds like my airsoft).

The sound of my bullets hitting the target when shooting .22lr is louder than the shots themselves.

personally, i'd just get a bushnell 4x scope. i have an eotech on mine and i think i'd be alot more satisfied with a regular low powered scope.

red dot for fun, not needed though. im looking for a scope that can handle short distances, not super magnified. i know what you mean, so many options and combinations. i was checking out this was earlier http://www.amazon.com/UTG-3-9x32-Co...8&qid=1372210390&sr=8-1&keywords=rifle+scopes
eh...kinda too low end for me. looking for more of an acog scope i believe.

right on, watch out for that bushnell looking acog. i had one and it was the biggest piece of turd i've ever used. they coat the glass with some blue/green tint and it ruins everything.

    how short of distances?
it sounds like you might need a 1-4 instead of a 3-9, my scope on my deer rifle is a 3-9x40 and the FOV is 33 feet @100 yds on 3x magnification.

    shortest distance probably 30-50ft.

this scope seems like it would do the job for sure. think its too close of a scope or too far for what i need. mainly will be shooting targets on a hill, and also hunting when I get the chance.

it has good reviews and is cheap enough you could get a inexpensive red dot if you wanted and you would stay in budget.
    i say get it.
