I am looking to get rid of my Goodyear Duratracs, they keep going out of balance and I have always wanted the BF's. I'd like feedback from someone that has either had both or at least the BF's, I have had my fill with Duratracs. Love the looks, have a pretty good hum to them, BF's look like they might be quieter and hopefully stay balanced. Thanks

My AT's absolutely suck! I have no idea why anyone would get them :spy:

They kick a$$! Only complaint is I wished they were the weight of a feather so my truck had more acceleration. Lol

i'm running duratracs on my current truck. had BFG ATs on my last two trucks (a 2000 Tacoma and a 2007 Tundra). The BFG is a great tire. Slightly quieter than that duratracs, but not as good in the snow, for whatever that's worth.

You can't go wrong with either tire in my opinion.

Ha yeah, so you do like them? Only bad reviews I have read is they aren't great in wet/slick conditions as compared to other AT's

I'm also considering Hankook Dynapro's but they might look a little weak on my truck, or Cooper AT3's

I've tossed around the Falken's but have been told they are pretty soft and wear faster than BF's....

I had no issues with mine when I had them. No balancing issues or anything like that. I also thought they looked great I didn't get a lot of miles out of them but I believe that was my fault. I did a lot of peel outs :anonymous: and didn't balance them at all. I thought they did decent in the snow, rain not so much. Were okay when I took them through mud. Price and wanting mud terrains is probably why I didn't get another set.

Edit: I'm currently running the Treadwright Guarddog M/Ts. Treadwright's Warden A/Ts look almost idential to a BFG All Terrain T/A KO and could be another option

First thing I did was go and get BFG A/T's to replace the rugged fails that came with the truck. I got me a set of 265/75/16's and love em. They are great tires and have had great success with them in mud and snow. They ride great on-road as well as off and are quiet (although they weigh a ton - 10 ply). Be aware that if you live in snow prone areas there are 2 types of A/T's for our trucks ones that are snow rated and ones that are not. Rotate them regularly and you will have them for 65-70k mi. no doubt. I think this is my 3rd set. Had other several other tires and will not change again.

Are you getting them balanced properly by a good shop?
A lot of people have trouble with balancing, as the Toyotas use a different balancing method.

They're retreads. You can request the casing to be BFG ones with the white letters. You should do some research on them. The majority of the people that run them really like them. They've got pretty good reviews and they're relatively inexpensive.

Found this google image of the Treadwright Warden with BFG casing.

Got the BFG's as an upgrade ove the stock pos when we got our truck. So far, no complaints, though I only have 6k on them or so. They're reasonably quiet (this is a truck, my expectations are not high), handle ok on roads (again, it's a truck, and this is comparing handling to a BMW on UHP summers), work well on gravel roads, dirt trails, over rocks, in rain and through light mud (though note I'm running them stock air pressure, aired down I expect they'd do even better!)

Mileage has been better than expected (running LT's, and, again, it's a truck, I'm not expecting miracles). FWIW getting 13-15L/100km on a '13 DCLB TRD Sport.

Haven't tried them in snow yet, but I expect to have a set of summers and a set of winters, so not that concerned with winter performance of the BFG's (I gather the Duratracs are better in snow, and are studdable, so will probably get those once the white stuff comes).

Only other AT tired I've ever had were a cheapo set on my old 4Runner, which sucked on more or less everything, so the BFG's are a revelation.

I had Duratracs on my 2009 and wish I had them on this truck. If they had been fairly new i would have swapped. Duratracs suit my needs better and never had a problem with them. These Bfg ATs i have now are real bad about collecting rocks and slinging them out on the highway. Duratracs are better in mud which is my main off road concern. At 30k on my Prerunner they had better than half tread left.

I have the BFG AT and am happy with them. I have only a couple complaints, and others have already mentioned them, the weight of the load range E's , and they sure like to pick up and throw gravel. Mine stick out a couple inches past the stock flares, and I'm beginning to notice paint chips from the stones flying out of them. Might be time for some Bushwhackers.

I've had my BFG's for about 33k miles and i love them, they grip really well in mud for an all terrain and i've never slipped or lost traction on a wet road, one thing i've noticed is they dont self clean like a mud tire would, but they're not mud tires...so there ya go haha. im going with general grabber AT2's for my next set, a lot cheaper and people rate them as better than the BFG's. guess we'll see

If I wanted an AT I'd get the BFG AT, mud terrain, I'd get the KM2

Edit: I've run several sets of the AT and it is a very good tire in almost all terrains, go figure!

every truck i've had has come with some sort of A/Ts on them and with in a month every one of those trucks has got a fresh set of BFGs!!!

they wear well, are responsive in most conditions and when aired down they offer lots of traction. that are a good compromise for an all round tire!!

    I highly recommend them
