I ordered stock replacement leafs from Deaver, and although I scrubbed TW for info, there's gonna be something I missed. Such as... am I able to reuse the shackles, the stealership wants $118 for the kit. I prefer to take the axle down to expose both leafs, and I do have a torch just in case a sticky bolt gives me problems. Grade 8 centering pin/cap nut will be installed, reuse of the bump stop will be utilized. Any other help is greatly appreciated!

make sure you have new front leaf eyes bolts and nuts as you will likely have to cut them off via sawzall. make sure you have bushings for front and rear and new u bolts would be a good idea also. i used new greasable shackles from wheelers, they are pretty nice. do one side at a time so that axle stays located and remember the leaf packs are different from right to left.

New front eye bolts/nuts in hand, will go get U bolts before the job. You recommend greasable shackles, so I take it I need new shackles. Might as well, I'm there already. Gonna get those too. Thanks for the shot of common sense.

Coat the u bolts and eye bolts in pb blaster for a few days before the job. X2 on probably having to cut off the front eyebolts. Sounds like you have everything pretty much covered otherwise.

Got the PB, I'll soak 'em good. Hoping to stay away from the heavy stuff, I don't have the air compressor for this job. I think I can "finesse" this one way or another, we'll see here in a few days.

Sawzall with good metal blades. Heavy hammer, 7 inch grinder, bench vise is nice to have too.

Thanks again for the tips, seems that I'm ill equipped for this little job, although I do have a vise and a BFH. It'll get done one way or another. I'll check back here so y'all can have a good laugh or two ;)

You could always rent tools at like Home Depot, not that you absolutely should have the sawzall and grinder there when you do it, but it's been my experience at TW Mod Days that somethin gets cut and something needs to be ground about half the time.
