well now that they changed the silly drm and internet requirements it's on equal ground, arguably even better because xbox live is superior to ps online in every way

people are like "but psn gives free games" but all this does is distract you from how mediocre and featureless the service is

combined with a superior controller and more sensible, feasible features (a share button? cmon sony you can do better), seems like xbox has already won this gen before the "war" has really even started

I completely agree about the controller and online service, the Xbox beats Sony in both.

if you think the playstation controller is good then you're clearly more of a fanboy than i am

the only real problem with the ps3 controller is the joystick positioning, which is kind of a huge deal. the way your hands are angled when you hold the 360 controller makes it so your thumbs naturally rest on the sticks. when you hold a ps3 controller, your thumbs are awkwardly angled inwards in order to be able to use the sticks. fortunately they realized that having domed sticks was incredibly stupid and they changed that for the ps4, but until they move the sticks to somewhere that isn't a pain in the dick to manipulate, the 360 controller will remain superior

Having used both, I can't say one is really better than the other, as far as comfort goes. I've been using the analog sticks since the first dual shock controller. Never thought they were uncomfortable to use. I will say the PS3 controller lasts on a single charge much much longer than the 360 does.

The controller debate is nonsense. There are aftermarket controllers for the ps that are the style of the xbox controller. Problem over.

Tis true but that's after market. For original controllers I find the xbox more comfortable but that's just like saying oh the Tacoma is better than a F150. Its just a matter of personal preference and opinion

Never said it was superior. I just prefer the feel of it. As a symmetrical being we are why does the Xbox feel the need to place the sticks in different locations? Now that doesn't make sense to me that the stick placement is right on both sides being in 2 different places. As playstation had them in the same locations for both hands. That makes more sense.

XBL will give "free" games to. (i qouted free because we have to pay for xbl, so its not really free in a sense.) they did admit that it would just be older games though.

    oil change...
well when I first was hearing about xbox being dicks about game sharing I was leaning 100% for a PS4. Now that they changed that, Im about 80% sure Ill still get a PS4.

Microsoft keeps sucking at making quality consoles and they keep making systems that crap out after a year or so. between me and my wife, we have had 5 different xbox 360's..... the first 4 all got the red ring, the new slim one we currently have, the disk drive is going bad (we have had this one for 2 years now I think which is a record).

and xbox live is way too expensive.

my 360 is 5 years old and going strong.

It has taken a beating too. The disk reader is finally going out on it, you have to warm it up like a diesel before it'll read.

I'm going to wait it out 6 months to a year before I drop any cash on a new system, so the hazy details surrounding both systems is cleaned up by then. I remember when PS3 first released, the wave of constant firmware updates was ridiculous. I don't really recall much bad from the initial Xbox 360 release, but the initial systems they had were so prone to hardware failure RROD. Glad I have the Xbox 360 Slim to minimize that to nearly null, but still.

If anyone does decide to pre-order, I HIGHLY urge you to find out every Pro/Con about either system before you throw down 399 or 499. There have been so many statements/specs about the systems thrown around, just make sure you do your research or you may be sorely disappointed.

My main reason for waiting it out: Battlefield 4 still coming to current gen systems, I won't be a guinea pig, by the time I do buy a next gen system all launch games will be on sale, and also most firmware bugs are worked out.
