I am absolutely not close minded in any way. I have considered every aspect and have listened, discussed, and kept an open mind throughout every conversation.

The fact that anybody can believe in god (ANY god. not just a judeo-christian god, but any supernatural being ((sun god, Vishnu... WHATEVER))) is absolutely absurd.

God is the big bang? Why? I don't know how the universe began and I don't give a damn. But if it were a big bang, why not just let it be a big bang? The fact that people can even sneak god into the explanation is insane to me. it's 2013, not the dark ages. things can be explained. we do not need to create stories and "higher beings" to explain the world and keep the masses' minds occupied and satisfied.

Evolution, because I was raised and taught that any work of fiction is simply that, fiction. Science always trumps fiction.

They explain the Big Bang as "it was a mere coincidence and stuff was made from nothing by no one", personally I think it'd take a lot more faith in coincidence to believe that than just submit to a Creator

I assume that you mean you have encountered things that make you believe he exists, rather than actually meeting Him face to face?

The fact that anybody can believe with 100% utmost positivity believe in ANYTHING is what is absurd. So just because you personally have "studied" these things makes you an expert on what is and is not real? Can you PROVE to me with 100% certainty that the universe exists? How do you know 100% for SURE? Have YOU flown to the far reaches of the galaxy? Have you traveled through space and verified everything that is out there? I think not. So what do you base your proof on? You base it on what you have read (Books written by other people) and what you have learned in school and other educational devices. (Again, other people) So your belief in what you have learned is not 100% personal fact, it is based on what? FAITH. Faith that what they have taught you, shown you in class rooms, and lead you to believe is real. How is that ANY different than religion? Just because you can not PROVE something exists does not mean it DOESN'T exist. THAT is the worst belief in all. Hell less than 700 years ago nearly everyone in the world thought that the Earth was flat. 500 years ago it was believed that birds were the only ones who could fly. How can you sit there and say with utmost certainty if there is or is not a God? How? It is simple. YOU CAN'T! You can't prove either way. Because there IS no definitive PROOF either way. I leave my faith in science and religion, as I see my personal beliefs. You simply have FAITH in what science has taught you, and what you have been taught. Hell for all we know outside our universe is nothing at all, and science has been creating great photoshop photos for us all these years.

As I said in my story, I definitely saw Jesus' face. I was completely broken, had attempted suicide twice at that point and would have continued until I succeeded unless Jesus had intervened and shown me what He did. I just needed to know someone felt what I felt and still loved me.

The rain came for 40 days and 40 nights is what I was thinking. My apologies for the mistake, it was just that.

Gravity is just a theory. But I don't see religious people jumping out of windows to try and deny it.

Evolution. 12 years of catholic school taught me one thing- You can twist the words of the bible around to prove or disprove ANYTHING you want, so at that point what the hell are we supposed to believe? I believe facts, things I can see, hold in my hands. The bible offers very little as far as facts. I was told in high school that I ask too many questions to be a good catholic, which is the response I got when I asked why there was no mention of dinosaurs in the bible. So we are just supposed to believe all this crap and not ask questions about it? Then why did god give us brains, and critical thought?

I'm not knocking the bible, it is good reading and a great spiritual guideline, but people take it WAY too literally. Buddhism doesn't even have a creation story. Why? Because it doesn't really matter. If it were proven one way or the other, would you live your life any differently? Probably not.

An empiricist. You should read up on the English metaphysical poets of the seventeenth century. Clergy who challenged their own faith during the rapid development in scientific and critical thought of the Renaissance. Some of it is pretty randy, too.
