    My lca's at ride height on level ground look the same as your passenger lca in this pic. Haha I'd say I'm sagging a little bit..

    Took it to O'reilly and found out the possible causes for my check engine light could be
    • Base engine "mechanical" fault affecting one or more cylinders
    • Check for air leaks after the MAF sensor
    • Check for air leaks in the Air Induction system
    • Check for air leaks in the exhaust manifold and in the exhaust pipes
    • Exhaust leaks located in the front of the AFS or HO2s location
    • Fuel control sensor is out of calibration (e.g. ECT, IAT, or MAP)
    • Fuel delivery system supplying too little fuel during cruise or idle periods (e.g. faulty fuel pump or dirty, restricted fuel filter)
    • Fuel injector (one or more) dirty or pressure regulator has failed
    • HO2S has failed (it may be contaminated with fuel, silicone or water)
    • Vehicle driven low on fuel or until it ran out of fuel

    Where do I start? Or should I just take it in at this point?

    Go to get alignment- replace whole front end
    Debadged and painted, plasti-dip bumper , Sock monkey decals, tool box, K&N cold air intake, flag holder/fishing pole holder, Satoshi, magnaflow 40 series, spidertrax wheel spacers, map lights, led reverse lights, led dash assembly lights, roof top LED bar

    Clean MAF and check vacuum lines for holes or dry rot. What was the actual code that is being thrown? Is it running rough or any other side effects?

    Looks like my lbj and spindle bolt holes are stripped :frusty:
    Took my truck in for an alignment at Firestone and while they were looking over the front end they noticed the lbj bolts were not tightened all the way and one of the bolts was broken...:mad:

    Edit: Would getting a slightly smaller and longer bolt and using a nut to bolt the spindle and lbj be a bad idea? Just trying to figure out a way to fix this without getting new spindles.

    The code is p0171 and nothing is running rough or anything so that's why I think it isnt anything major

    Haha well you also have to remember that I'm lifted 3". If you're suspension is stock then that would be about where mine were when I was stock.

    Yeah... It's been like that for a while. :eek:

    I'm going to wait until I get sliders and tint, then I'm going to buy some homertaco mesh and repaint it with colormatch paint.

    This happened to my friends Tacoma, only we discovered the trouble out on the trail when the whole wheel assembly pulled away from the LCA. :eek:

    Two bolts were totally missing, one was sheared off in the sprindle and one was pulled out, stripping the threads in the process.

    Putting thru bolts with a nut on two of the four bolts might work but there may be interference with the outer CV boot. Ultimately, had to remove the spindle and put a heli-coil in the stripped location. This might be something you can try.

    :eek: I'm glad it was found while getting an alignment and not out on a trail. I left it at the shop because they said it was unsafe to drive, the bolts wouldn't re tighten at all. They said they would try to clean and tap the threads and try new bolts. Hopefully that works. I'll keep the heli-coil idea in mind if Firestone can't fix it. Thanks for the suggestions!

    At my last lower ball joint change I put a dab of JB Weld on the edges of each mount bolt. This allows for a quick "at a glance" visual check for loosening, nothing to do with retention.
    The bolts are properly torqued with thread locker but if the JB is "broken" I know to check them further.

    Jon's bolts fell out on us at a trail too. Only had two part way left in on the passenger side and 3 bolts on driver side with one almost out.

    Good times.

    I like that idea. I think I will do that once it's fixed and put back together to help prevent this from happening again.
    Sounds like it haha. I will definitely keep a better eye on the bolts after this wonderful experience.

    Nice telltale. Yet they are still only as good as the human is at remembering to check them. I am beginning to think these should be through bolts nutted on the top, or better yet, with drilled bolts and castellated nuts, or drill the bolt heads and use safety wire (aka lock wire).
