Installed Lift!!

I finally finished putting on my lift after about 3 weeks of only an AAL in the back. I went with Bilstein 5100's in the front set at 2.5" and I love it so far. Overall the truck rides stiffer than stock but not uncomfortable.

My only issues so far are a vibration at take off (gotta get axle shims) and a vibration around 25-30mph from the front that I hope an alignment will take care off. Because my camber is noticibly off and so is my toe i would imagine. I also added a front diff drop which made the angles on the CV shafts about back to stock.

Installation wasn't too bad. I just had to have my dad use a big pry bar to spread the control arms far enough apart to fit the new strut assembly in between them. That and figuring out how to wrestle the strut assemblies in and out were my two biggest issues. I also removed my sway bar to give a little more room too which i'm not sure i needed to do buy oh well.

I'm very happy with the results. Even though my front driver side is about half an inch lower than the passenger. Also my rear passenger is about half an inch lower than the drivers side which is weird. So i'm thinking about getting the 1/4" toytec spacer for the front and a 1/2" block for the rear passenger side. Any thoughts on this?

Q for you. I keep hearing about Bilstein 5100's... Are they "adjustable height"? Or are they just more pressurized and happen to lift the truck?

 

Looks good man, can't wait to see it with new shoes! Sounds like the infamous "taco lean"..I wouldn't worry about it.

if the billstein's are adjustable, and teh trd sport comes with them...does that mean they are adjustable from stock?

 

I don't think the billy's on our stock tacos are the "adjustable" kind. Just taking a guess here.... We probly have a "toyota bilstein" shock. I guess the bigger question is ok, you have more spring up front, how does that affect control amrs and such? And yes I like your taco dude. turned out great. Hence the questions.

 

The shocks on the TRD are Billies but they are not the adjustable kind. Different modle.
