The lower the percentage the darker the tint. 0%-5% is limo tint. The percentage is the amount of light that is let in. I had 20% on a car when they added the law. Got pulled over, 2 choices. Ticket or remove the tint. I removed the tint.

There are so many taller trucks than me. Most are 6" lifted trucks. I told him he was wrong which made things worse.

No one up here cares about that kind of stuff. Maybe if you found the wrong GSP on the wrong day, kinda like I did with my window tint. County or city cops...they'll look at you and tell you "nice truck". Mainly cuz you know pretty much all of them.

Remedy that by putting your music on a thumb drive and quit carrying CD's (they are getting to be as old fashioned as 8-Tracks), or put your music on your phone and bluetooth it to the new head unit. Crutchfield has some great units now. I paid $300 for mine and that included the trim kit and wiring harness. Took all of 30 minutes to remove and replace. I got the one where you can watch movies as well ($10 addl for the ebay supplied e-brake bypass). This unit also bluetooths to your cellphone for hands free.

Question (asking for opinion and clarification)... I am also a Georgia Carry. Org member.

Doesn't the law RE: military carry w/o license only apply "if in the execution of your duties" apply? At one of the last meetings it was brought up, and one of the guys suggested that since the military was a "federal" position, that in his mind that military could carry just as an Air Marshall carries onboard commercial aircraft. It got into a heated discussion, and someone read the actual law as it applies to Georgia, and I left with the opinion (which is probably wrong) that #1 you have to get caught carrying (how many gang bangers actually get 'caught', and we all know that many of them do carry-and not in the required holster); and #2 it really does not take much to get a CCW in Georgia as GA is a "must issue" states. I have a GA and an AZ CCW. The AZ permit allows me to carry in several states that GA does not reciprocate with, as my GA permit allows me to carry in some states that AZ does not reciprocate with. I just wish that SC would recognize GA's permit but at this time they do not.

GA law only applies here federal law takes over for past tsa areas..so i couldnt help you on that...

but the exemption applies to on duty or off duty military, reserves even gerogia state defense force(dunno if youve ever heard of it but its state military under control of the governor of GA) arent you always employed by the military even when off duty??

here is actually a case out of augusta where the guy was detained and his gun actually stolen he was a member of the military he won his civil rights law suit

from line 15: Zachary Mead is not required to have a GFL in his possession to carry a pistol
or revolver by virtue of O.C.G.A. § 16-11-130(a)(3).

i cant find a working link for this but this was in an mag near augusta after it happened

Wow....now that is something I can relate to! Thanks for posting!!!!

    Code Sections 16-11-126 through 16-11-128.
Thus, persons so exempt are exempted not only from the requirement of a permit to carry a firearm (O.C.G.A. § 16-11-128), but are also exempt from the provisions regarding the carrying of concealed weapons (O.C.G.A. § 16-11-126),
carrying deadly weapons to or at public gatherings (O.C.G.A. § 16-11-127),
and carrying weapons within school safety zones or at school functions (O.C.G.A. § 16-11-127.1)

Here is what the Attorney General says http://law.ga.gov/opinion/97-13-0

Of course, this opinion was written in 1997. I do not know if anything has changed since the issue came up about CCW in locations which served alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises.

Good post, good discussion. Thank you.

well the public gathering clause was legislated out in 2010..

16-11-130 exempts you from all of these code sections:

    16-11-126
    16-11-127
    16-11-127.1
    16-11-127.2

so you can carry your pistol at the off limits locations like bars(georgia hardly has any bars mainly are restaurants with bars in them) government building(although sheriffs dont have to let you carry inside courthouses its not illegal for you to do so) you can carry to college if are also going to school, you can carry to church etc
