I love how it always comes back around to this. Douglas Adams is (was) a genius.

The point is that some people will fall all over themselves to deny the Theory of Evolution -- which is easily demonstrable, and repeatable, and carries as much evidence as gravitation -- but they don't jump off of skyscrapers because they deny the "theory" of gravity. Despite the fact that these two theories were formed using the same empirical process of scientific research and experiment.

Look, I couldn't care less if a person wants to believe in God, Jeebus, Bishnu, Allah, Ra, The Great Green Arklesiezure, Zeus, or any other "higher" power.*

But to deny Evolution because somebody told you (the royal you, not you in particular) that the Universe was clapped into existence 6-10,000 years ago is just plain stupidity. And in this day and age, it's even worse, because you have to choose to be willfully ignorant in this case.

*I actually do care if they use their religious beliefs to cause harm, suffering or death to other people. That's not cool. And has happened way too often.

Evolution does nothing to solve how life started.

And, hell, just for argument's sake, let's say it DID take a divine breath to kickstart life -- doesn't mean that Evolution doesn't exist (when it obviously, does).

I'm not advocating that there isn't room for faith and science to coexists -- I honestly feel there is (some of the best doctors and scientists I know are extremely faithful).

I'm just saying to deny Evolution is folly.

I'm sure we'll all probably have it figured out in a couple of months. This debate can't go on forever, can it.......?

Say that those theories are true... That everything spotaneously came from nothing. Which is in a nutshell what that is. why did it take billions of years to form into Humans. and conversely hoe did we go from cave dwellers with no written language to space in 20,000 years?
