Yeah I think I would've had a terrible time with it the other way.
It was nice that it worked after starting this thing a year ago.

Got my dust lights, high beams and offroad lights, just waiting to be installed. That way I don't have to mob at night with just low beams:rolleyes:

    So I'm planning on re-gearing to 4.56.
Just to double-check, I need the 7.5" reverse R&P for the front and the 8.4" R&P for the tundra rear w/o locker?
And should I get the extra kit with replacement bearings and such?

Sorry if it's already been asked about but...headlights and dash LED swap. Did you do a write up? That's what I'm looking to do to mine. I'm interested in having the blue ring headlights but in a chrome version lol Sweet truck.

I did a projector write up. My halos aren't actually blue, my avatar is just tinted. Mine are white.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/245286-1st-gen-headlights-fxr-projector-help-thread.html

As for the LED swap, for climate control and gauges, you'll need (4) 194 wedge base bulbs
    http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...194-led-bulb-5-led-wide-angle-wedge-base/199/
And (2) 74 wedge base bulbs
    http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...led-bulb-3-smd-led-wide-angle-wedge-base/228/

Links are just there so you get an idea of what you need to buy, though those are the ones that I got.

Theres a couple threads around, detailing how to take your dash apart and swap them out. If you want help finding some let me know, or I'll take some pics of what needs to come out.

Id seriously consider 4.88s if I was you. (i have that gearing currently) and on 35s i could do with some more, and you're on 33s so.... just my opinion take it or leave it

Yeah, I thought of it. I don't know how much top end I'd lose though, and I don't think I'll go bigger than 33's on this truck.
    But I haven't ordered yet

Just keep in mind your top speed will prob be limited by a lack of power even with higher gears. Top end shouldnt be a problem you'll be running right around 3k rpms on 4.88s and 33's and thats at 80 mph.

When you say top end, your referring to max mph correct?

I was in same boat when I blew my rear diff....was regearing either way 4.56 or 4.88. I ended up going 4.56 cuz a few kept telling me the next size up the ring gear starts getting weaker n weaker. I was recommended to not go over 4.56 if staying with 33. But I do wish I had a lil more gear sometimes.

Nothing a supercharger won't fix lol

The diff shop told me to go with 4.56s for 35s i said no, and yes the ring gear gets weaker, but from my research this is a problem on 5.29s not 4.88s.

I think OP has a supercharger

    Yeah, these are my thoughts

Don't have S/C yet but it's on the list. I'll probably stick with 4.56's for now. Gears are cheap anyway. Thanks for the info dude

    ...too much shit to list.
You're also forgetting OP is 4wd...which means a shitty 7.5" ring gear up front. Bigger you go on gears, the weaker the ring gear gets...simple as that. Pushing the rear 8" ring gear to 4.88's is certainly doable as long as you keep tire size in check (33's, max 35's). But that doesn't help you up front. I grenaded pieces of my front diff with 33's and 4.56. Truly is the drivetrain weak link.
