It can be frustrating for some people. It would be like me telling you grass is blue. You look at it, see that it is green. But I tell you I believe it is blue. Many people have a hard time containing themselves when ridiculous and false statements are made. I do think everyone has the right to believe what they want, no matter how wrong I think they are. And criticizing people will never be successful in a debate.

That sure is a weird conclusion to arrive at. What makes you think that way? You're not married are you?

What if you believe that a greater unknown power , we'll call him God to simplify things , created all the matter in the universe , and packed that into one tiny spot and the Big Bang happened and everything that science teaches us happened after that like the age and expansion of the universe and on Earth , evolution of species

What if you believe in God just not the Bible stories , because I have never said " There is no God "

    Isaiah 40:22 (NIV)
22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,
and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

the text in this verse states the roundness of the earth which was until the 1500s (Ferdinand Magellan) believed to be flat. this bible verse was written a very long time before that(740-680 B.C). my point is that the bible is full of facts that we are still figuring out to this very day, facts about the earth, disease, the ocean, and much much more. the only way these facts could be known before humans figured them out is a higher power. and a higher power clearly points to creationism

and on top of that id like to think that my life has a purpose, that behind the scenes their is something bigger going on. if evolution is the way than I have no purpose. the world has no purpose it just happens the way it happens. to believe in creationism gives me a hope that all of this is for something and that someday their will be an end to it all and that I served my purpose in gods great design

Sorry oz, missed that post. I think it's very possible God used what know as science to start things off, the Big Bang makes sense when you apply it to creation. Evolution however, deviates from this drastically as God created man from dust and woman from mans rib.

It negates the truth of it when you simply pick and choose what parts you want to take and apply to your life (and by that I mean to choose to live under the understanding of a certain viewpoint). The bible is either 100% accurate, or it is all false.

With creationism the benefit scientifically is we have a witness: God. We believe the bible is Gods word and true in every facet and therefore it's easy to understand how the earth and you and I came to be. There legitimately was someone there who witnessed it and it was then all documented.

I'm not saying this to start another argument, simply stating it so you guys understand where I'm coming from, both scientifically and spiritually.

Because where do you draw the line where "this is true, this isnt"?

Ben gave me his thoughts, anyone else want to try address the emergence of drug resistant viruses?

I wanna hear what you heard!

And as for the viruses, I think it's pretty simple. From what I've been taught and read on my own that is. Viruses follow some of the basic Darwinian evolutionary principles. Some! Natural selection would explain it best.

I believe there are historical figures , locations and events in the Bible but I don't believe many of the tales told in it

    For example , Noah's Ark
