Can a pair of Avid bolt on sliders ever be converted to weld-on and become a "true" slider? May be trading with a friend for a pair of Bolt ons.

 

Yeah, just weld the bolt plates onto your frame

 

Would the 3 bolt on locations be strong enough as welding points and be able to support a hi lift jack? I thought that the weld on sliders have 4 mounting points and different brackets.

 

Buy Weldon ones not bolt on.

 

You can definitely weld them on. I am not sure about there bolt on and weld on sliders having different amount of contact (weld or bolt) point. I would lay them up to the frame and see where they land. If you have existing holes try bolting them up with good hardware and backing plates where needed.

 

I might have a spare transmission for that. I got the original from my trail truck and it is useless to me. II would prob let it go for like 200.

Ended up when getting into it. Used a private adjuster. The damage to the cab is pretty bad and work wont be able to do what they orgianlly said after getting into it a lil. So off to my family body shop shady shit now
