Okay I got it in the mail today, definitely nowhere near a direct fit. Looks like it could be modified to work, but the stud on the Scion antenna is only about 1/5 of the length and can't reach the threads atm.

Well, I think it can be done, its just the threads on the Tacoma are deep. The stud on the scion antenna isn't long enough. The guy who I talked to before said I needed to trim, but I wasn't sure what he meant after looking at it now. I think I know what I have to do, but I'm waiting for his reply.

Chances are I'll just have to hone down some of the plastic at the base, thus making the stud more exposed, and longer, providing a secure fit. I hope this works because it looks good on it!

Bought a cheapo stubby the other day and it just didn't look right, decided to chop about 8" off of the stock one instead. Looks high in the pic but after the cut it's just a few inches higher than the roof.

I bought this one too. I was a little disapointed that there was a gap in between the bottom of the antenna nut and the mount on my '09. I found an o-ring that filled the gap, now you can't tell. I am happy with it now.

You guys should be happy to know I went down to the hardware store yesterday and picked up some parts. At the moment, the scion antenna is installed! I unfortunately had to do is rather cheap. The threads are M5/.80 and I couldn't find a coupler nut the right size. It would appear no one cares to stock metric components. I simply used a regular nut and a lot of CA, then epoxy around it to hold it in place. This leaves a small gap that I filled by carving a rubber gromment to fit. I will post pictures when I trim the stud later today for the final install.

try #10-32, the thread difference is minimal between M5x.8 and #10-32. We do this at work when we're in a pinch

Probably would have been nice to know, either way their coupler nut box was very limited, I tried all in the size range and none were close enough. Oh well, if this one breaks, which, I see a small chance that it could, but not very likely, but if it breaks I'll look into that one when I replace it.

Here it is, installed! More to come, I will probably make a quick writeup on it soon! It sits about level with the top of the windshield, definite is not taller than the cab. Looks good and the antenna performs just as well if not BETTER than the orig antenna.

    Just the basics
Looks great. Same antenna I have somewhere around here. Sucks that it doesn't just screw in w/o any work.

Yeah, its worth it thats for sure, got tired of whapping my carport everytime I pulled in. The way I did it was VERY cheaply done but its holding, I'll do a writeup soon with a preferred course of action.

I bought this one from 4 wheel parts. Its 21 inches, which puts it just below the roof line. It is a good fit.
